Via ferrata Hoger Steg in Predlitz with kids | Steiermark (Styria) - Austria

On July 17, 2024, we visited the via ferrata Hoger Steg in Predlitz, located in the Marau district of Steiermark (Styria), Austria. We parked at the trailhead, right next to the entrance of the car tunnel. The trail is a pleasant one, with a maximum difficulty level of C, and the fact that we were alone in the gorge made it even more enjoyable. The track is very well maintained. This was the first time our youngest daughter (9) completed a via ferrata trail of this difficulty on her own, without simultaneous progression (i.e., not attached to a guide with a climbing rope). For safety, she was positioned between two adults so we could intervene if necessary, but everything went smoothly.
