Paging Doctor Detail! Dravit Grey BMW X7 Exterior w/ PPF and Ceramic Coating - From Sick to Slick!

Alas! Fall is here. This is likely going to be my last home wash of the season! I don't have an indoor / climate-controlled setup. In this video, I detail my BMW X7 M60i, which is coated with XPEL 10 mil PPF (Paint Protection Film) and XPEL Fusion Ceramic Coating. The color of the vehicle is Dravit Grey Metallic (or Dravit Gray Metallic, depending upon whether you want to keep it official or not). I am not a professional detailer but I love my cars looking clean and I follow a thorough process using products that are safe for PPF and ceramic finishes – I actually ran through my detailing routine with XPEL previously to get their okay because the last thing you want is to invalidate their warranty. For the clean, I use an Adam’s Active 2.0 pressure washer and my trusted Griot’s boss foam cannon. One thing I'm particularly excited to show off is the recently released MJJC Pro V3.0 Foam Cannon. Use coupon code: WYRJGXG0ZPAX for 10%discount I use two separate foam pre-washes, I am partial to DIY Detail Incredible Suds, Adam's Polishes Mega Foam, and Koch Chemie Gentle Snow Foam (GSF). I treat my car the same way I would treat multi-drug-resistant bacteria, and I assume each foam may have a few unique properties that make them better suited to removing different kinds of debris clinging to the car. All of this is geared towards gently loosening and removing dirt from the surface of the vehicle without scratching, this helps get the car prepped for the contact wash, which I either do with Meguiar's Gold or Turtle Wax Pure Wash. I also wanted to get into a little more detail by illustrating how I clean my wheels and tire - in addition to blasting them during the pre-washes, I spray them down with P & S Brake Busters through my foam cannon and I take a few separate brushes and a wash mitt to the wheels and tires and then I undress the tires with CARPRO Retyre - I didn't capture it but I go back a second time with Retyre to make sure the substrate is no longer dirty. I make sure that after the tire is cleaned that there is at least one more foam pre-wash and a pressure wash before the contact wash since the tire is a high-risk area for reintroducing contaminants to the paint surface. After cleaning, I primarily dry the car with an Adam’s Air Cannon (which works great with ceramic coatings) for a predominantly contact-less dry, but in truth I do end up using a drying towel on a few areas. To finish, I apply a ceramic boost spray over the entire vehicle, rejuvenating the hydrophobic properties and enhancing the gloss of the XPEL Fusion ceramic coating for a deep shine. I then apply Griot's 3-in-1 Ceramic Wax to the wheels (which are not coated with XPel) and I condition the tires with CARPRO Dark Side. As always seems to happen when I am on hospital call and shooting a video, I was summoned and had to interrupt the video (hence the transition to scrubs for the latter half of the video).
