Fill it up to 600ml Watch the clock. As the time nears 9 minutes, use the other measuring cup to pour out your developer- not down the drain, but into the empty measuring cup. You can reuse your developer! As soon as that is done, pour your stop bath into the Patterson tank. Put the lid on and agitate again for about 3 minutes. Make sure no stop bath solution gets into the developer in the other measuring cup. If it does, it is ruined. One drop will ruin a whole gallon. Once you are sure it’s good, pour the developer back into the big jug of stock solution (that’s what you call developer that’s strongly mixed at a 1:1 ratio). Step 3: Stabilize the negative using Ilford Rapid Fixer: https://amzn.to/2ZJMMOC Rinse out both cups. Continue to agitate. Once you approach 3 minutes, pour about 20ml of fixer into a freshly cleaned measuring cup. Fill with 600 ml of water. Pour the stop bath out of the tank and pour in the fixer. You can’t reuse the stop bath. Just dispose of it properly. The fixer needs about 1 minute to work. I generally do 2 minutes because that’s how long it takes me to clean up my mess so far. Step 4: Rinse your negatives in cool tap water. Pour out the fixer and run your negatives under the tap for 5 minutes. Step 5: Open the tank and check out your negatives! I’ll bet they look great. Time to squeegee them off and hang them to dry someplace where they won't get too dusty while drying.
