Mammoth ivory is over 10,000 years old as all wooly mammoths when extinct at the end of the last ice age. (No living species of animal were harmed to make this knife) Zac Buchanan shows and talks about his process of filling a guard straight, removing excess solder from the underside of the guard and how he shapes his handles. Zac uses a hand file and belt grinder with slack belt attachment, as well as multiple abrasive belts to fully contour and polish the beautiful mammoth ivory handles on this set of knives. The knives featured in this video are RW Loveless style Wilderness and Mini Wilderness patterns. Both knives are made of CPM154CM stainless steel and the guards are made of 416 stainless steel. The mosaic pins are made by Sally Martin. Thanks for taking the time to come to my channel and watch my videos, I truly appreciate it!!
