We suffered damage to our tent poles whilst on Bryher this year, but fortunately it remained intact for our last night. 5 breaks all told. We were next to a hedge (side on) but the wind came over the hedge and rattled the tent for a few hours. 50mph or thereabouts, and because we got it from the side. that was too much for the poles. I'm sure if the wind was end to end then the poles would have been fine. I tried to find replacements from various shops and even considered getting them from China. Managed to find Tent Spares Ltd in the UK. They knew what I needed during a phone call and so I went for a 5 pack. Got them delivered within 24 hours. Gold poles unavailable in 9.5mm so had to use the silver. I'm not too fussed about the colour and I don't think the tent minds either. Next stop.....permission woodland. Watch this space!
