miComet pranks ReGLOSS: Otonose Kanade - Hoshimachi Suisei, Sakura Miko [hololive / eng sub]

"They've never seen us together behind the scenes, so let's make them think we're weirdos!" miComet pranks all of ReGLOSS using this premise. Third victim, Kanade! --- This was a fun one, if maybe almost too short. I have a feeling Kanade might have been playing along with the prank a bit more calmly than the other two, and thus didn't spiral into dos das dos, nor reach buddhist enlightenment. This is actually a really interesting exercise... Trying to find fonts that feel right to match the Japanese font and tone of the scene is a workout! Even (or especially) with thousands of fonts... I also didn't want to just randomly switch fonts all the time either, to try to keep some consistency (which is also why most of the basic dialogue defaults to one style, even if it's not captioned in the original). Matching the text style is also fairly weird. For the most part I can get the same styles with a vanilla Premiere graphic element... But I suspect whoever made the original captions either uses a plugin I don't have, or possibly it's done in a different editor. I frequently have to use shadows to approximate off-center strokes, and to get an even vaguely similar emboss effect than the one the captions use, I have to stack on various effects and blurs in a way so unintuitive that I have to assume, again, it's either a plugin or a different editor. (I did once try my luck with Davinci Resolve when I was frustrated with the snail's pace of Premiere with AE heavy text styling... but somehow it ended up even slower on my hardware, go figure). Anyway! I got a bit into the weeds, there, sorry. So, I did warn people not to get used to the speed at which the previous segment came out, and clearly I wasn't kidding! That said that was also slower for a few more reasons, from me "giving that Palworld thing a quick try" for 60+ hours to the more obvious, working on the next segment of my Suichan: Kart to survive series. I have no plans to drop the pranks series, and I will poke at the next one alongside working on Mario Kart stuff, just, once again, don't expect it to be fast. Do expect it to be way too much effort. The amount of time I can spend on them each week fluctuates quite a bit for various reasons I won't bother you with, but just know that unless a meteor hits my house and obliterates me, the continuation for both things WILL be coming. I can announce that despite there being only 3 streams I could work with, there will be a training arc before the tournament itself in the Kart to Survive series. I'm actually primarily working on that, with the pranks clips sprinkled in as a change of pace for myself. It's already about 15 minutes long, including an intro that took me an ungodly amount of time, and I'm not even through the first stream. As usual, the "training arcs" are primarily just fun bits of talking/randomness with Mario Kart mostly as a background. There's definitely fun stuff to work with though, so look forward to it. Here's the playlist to Kart to Survive:    • Kart to Survive   As usual, comments, corrections, thoughts and suggestions more than welcome! I've been a bit overwhelmed with the amount of comments on the last couple videos, so again I can't promise I'll respond to all of them, but I read them religiously, even the profoundly dumb ones. Quick note for the two people who might read this far into the description: I have actually been wondering if I might benefit from an extra translation checker for my videos. Videos like this one are slightly easier because of the official captions spelling things out, but for my other videos there's definitely some parts I would like the peace of mind of a second set of eyes and ears on it. The "have people check your script in advance" approach of, say, the hololive fan discord doesn't really jive with the weird organic way I build my videos (and no need to point out I'm doing it wrong, I know). I was thinking something more along the lines of uploading the video as private and having someone watch and give notes. I've contemplated asking about it on the Hoshiyomi discord but frankly, I'm not the most social creature, and I have spent longer avoiding public forums than many of my viewers have been alive, so getting involved on discord feels like a big ask. I barely interact that much with my cats, let along people I don't know. Obviously I'd give credit / link to the helper's channel, which is about all I could do until and unless this channel ever makes a single cent of revenue.
