#dooars, #coffee #jitiriver #jiti #dalgaon #rongo Babluda: 9830431622 It was a bright morning on our 3rd day at Dooars, it was 6th of Sept, 2021, we started at 8 am from the resort and our first stop was at popular Murti Bridge at Dhupjhora. Then we went to Jiti Bazar via Nagrakata. Jiti bazar is situated at Indo-Bhutan border. Due to the shutdown of the border after the outbreak of corona, the bazar is suffering a huge loss, it had customers across the border and all of a sudden everything stopped. Local business is struggling and they are looking forward to the opening of the border. Although it was warm and sunny, at Jiti, we got rain. When the rain stopped we went to the western side of Jiti Tea State, from there we got the panoramic and breathtaking view of the not-so-wide Jiti river valley, the other side of Jiti river is Bhutan, the Jiti river defining the border. Then we headed towards Rongo, our next destination. From Kumani, we had to take right turn for Rongo, on the way, we saw huge rubber plantation at Gairibas, that is about 5 km from Kumani. We also stopped by the factory where the rubber sheet is produced from the collected latex from the trees. It was really an exciting experience for us. We also found that this is a West Bengal State Govt initiative, venturing in plantation of Coffee trees in this part of Dooars. We observed many Coffee trees around us, with some of them having high yield of Coffee seeds. We stopped at a local road side restaurant for our lunch, had Maggi and Gundruk soup. After lunch went straight to Rongo. Rongo is often referred as Cherrapunji of Dooars for it's huge rainfall. The top of Rongo is situated at 6000 ft, this hamlet was established during the British period for Cinchona plantation. After visiting Rongo top we went to Dalgaon View point, that was our last point for the day.
