Its boxing day! I'm out for yet another powder day, but I gotta be quick, cause its gunna be a busy day at the shop! I'm booting around on the NTTB "W46°", a premium Canadian made brand out of Quebec. This board is nice and chargey, having a back bone that feels like a border cross board. Precision and power are what this board is all about (plus its pretty fast). I start out the day by taking my normal route through "Mom and Dads" off to skiers right of Emerald Chair. I ride the trees off of this bowl and cross over Marmot into the trees to the left of Ratfink. These trees are super low angle and flowy. The first lap through here often requires a bit of trudging, as sometimes no track has been made, and there is deep snow that hasn't been groomed. This morning was one of those mornings. I do two laps of this before things start to get tracked. The alpine wasn't going to open due to winds, so I swiftly made plans to ride mid- mountain trees. My go to section of woods is to the skiers right off of the Ptarmigan race course. This section of trees is untitled on the trail map, but exists just to the left of Side Order. The run in question pops out to a cat track called "Summer Road", which exits back to Ptarmigan / Lower Seppos. At this point, one has the option to take said cat track, or to push through the next set of trees further below, which eventually pops you back out onto Upper Olympic. This is where I screwed up. On my second lap through this area, I made the dumb choice of persevering past Summer Road and into a section of bush that simply wasn't yet ready to be ridden. The snow quality was sparse and unconsolidated, leading to many such tree-well like obstacles, where the snow continuously sinks under neath you. I ultimately spent about 30 minutes trying to navigate through some incredibly dense bush and brush, causing me to strap in and out several times. The fact that I was late for work did not help! All in all I managed to burst through the bushes and onto the next run, but not without getting quite the work out first. Definitely not an ideal adventure, especially on boxing day, and whilst demoing a new board. Anyways, it was a super fun morning, and sometimes you gotta struggle a bit to get the line! Thanks for watching, don't forget to like and subscribe! Filmed December 26th 2025 on an Insta 360 X4 here in beautiful Whistler BC! Thanks to NTTB snowboards for letting me demo their board! Cheers! Cheers!
