2021 Range Rover P400e: The plug-in hybrid luxury SUV

With an all-new Range Rover about to be revealed, should anybody in the market for a luxury car still be considering the current version? To find out, in this video Rebecca Jackson gets hold of the plug-in hybrid 2021 Range Rover P400e in Westminster Black Edition trim and sees how it fares for quality, space, technology, efficiency and driving manners. The P400e combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor for a total of 398bhp. That’s enough to get it from 0-60mph in just under six seconds. If you really crave more performance, there’s a supercharged V8 model with either 517- or 557bhp, or for slightly more sensible people, a choice of three six-cylinder diesels. However, in the plug-in hybrids favour is an electric only range of around 25 miles, and an official fuel economy figure of 85mpg.
