Today we sit down with Ted (IG: dungeon.ted) to talk about how I was denied entry to a gay bathhouse in Japan — simply for being a foreigner. At first, I thought it must be a misunderstanding. I speak Japanese, I live here, I understand the rules. But it turns out the reason was much simpler… and much more uncomfortable: “No foreigners.” In this video, we talk about what happened, why policies like this still exist in Japan, and — most importantly — why they’re actually legal under Japanese law. We also dig into nuisance prevention, language barriers, cultural expectations, and why “discrimination” doesn’t always work the same way here as it does in places like the US or Canada. This isn’t about canceling anyone or calling for outrage. It’s about understanding how these systems work, why they persist, and where the real conversation probably should be happening. Let us know what you think — is this discrimination, cultural difference, or something more complicated? ♥Follow Ted ・IG: dungeon.ted ♥Follow Us ・Tokyo BTM IG: tokyo_btm ・Meng's IG: meng.kssk ・Andrew's IG: puguk84 ♥Patreon If you would like to support the creation of more videos like this and see behind-the-scenes and/or extra content, please join us on Patreon! ・Patreon: @tokyobtm ♥See You Next Time Theme ・Ikson - Think U Know| / ikson ♥Chapter 00:00 Rejected for Being a Foreigner 03:04 Discrimination is Legal? 07:33 "Nuisance Prevention" 10:42 Are We Angry Only When it Affects Us? 12:16 Will Businesses Go Under? 18:03 What Can be Done?
