With negligible wind forecast I decided to go to my local pit for a waggler session. The pit is exposed and can be challenging in windy conditions but on this occasion the surface was calm, which was ideal for margin fishing. The rudd were very obliging but I had hoped that I might be lucky enough to get a crucian or two, or even a margin feeding carp, which has been the case in the past. But not on this occasion. I made a bad choice of pitch as later in the afternoon I was in the shade and started to get a bit chilled, which was ironic as the week before at the Clay Pit I got too hot!
