Transmission Type: 2006 Dodge RAM 1500 5.7L. 42RLE - Filter: 5N*m (45 in lbs); Pan: 20 N*m (14.5 ft lbs) 545RFE - Filter: 4.5 N*m (40 in lbs); Pan: 12 N*m (105 in lbs) Service Types: 2006 Dodge RAM 1500 5.7L. The "Service Fill" (Just Filter) is: 42RLE: 4 Quarts. 545RFE 2WD: 5.5 Quarts. 545RFE 4WD: Just Over 6.51 Quarts. The "Fill Overhaul" (all of it) is: 42RLE: 8.75 Quarts. 545RFE (2WD and 4WD): 14 Quarts. Remember to use only ATF+4 transmission fluid. Also remember, do not add transmission fluid to the "FULL" mark when it is cold (as transmission fluid expands when it gets warm). When adding fluid right after you put the pan back on, add enough to get a reading on the stick (a low reading). Than, drive around to get the tranny to operating temperature. At that point, with the engine running, put the tranny in Neutral, and check the level. Add only enough to get to "FULL" or ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 🛑WARNING!!!
