The 2026 Zhiji (IM) LS9 is the new flagship full-size luxury SUV from IM Motors, a joint venture between SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech. Launched in China in November 2025, the LS9 represents the pinnacle of the brand’s “LS” SUV lineup. It combines striking design, advanced hybrid-electric technology, and a high level of interior luxury. While official export plans have not been confirmed, it’s seen as a potential competitor to established European luxury SUVs like the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Range Rover. The LS9 uses a range-extended electric powertrain (EREV), which pairs dual electric motors with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that serves solely as a generator. The system delivers an estimated 0–100 km/h time of around 4.9 seconds, offering both strong performance and impressive efficiency. On China’s CLTC test cycle, the SUV achieves roughly 402 km of pure-electric driving range, and when the generator is included, the total range reaches up to 1,508 km, effectively eliminating range anxiety for long-distance travel. Dimensionally, the LS9 is a true full-size SUV — about 5,279 mm long, 2,000 mm wide, and 1,806 mm high, with a 3,160 mm wheelbase. Inside, it’s typically configured as a six-seater (2+2+2) layout, prioritizing comfort and space for all occupants. The cabin is loaded with premium materials such as quilted Nappa leather, and amenities like zero-gravity second-row seats and even an in-car refrigerator. Technologically, the LS9 is equally impressive, featuring a 27.1-inch curved display spanning the dashboard, a 21.5-inch 5K entertainment screen for rear passengers, and four-wheel steering for enhanced agility and stability. Visually, the SUV carries a sleek, coupe-like profile despite its size, highlighted by full-width LED light bars at both ends, flush door handles, and a futuristic design language that blends elegance with athleticism. In China, prices start at around ¥346,900 (roughly €44,000) and rise to about ¥376,900 (€48,000), though international pricing would likely be higher due to taxes and homologation costs. #suv #china #zhiji #ls9 #recanything #novo
