According to the results, Mamdani, representing the Democratic Party, defeated former governor Andrew Cuomo (who ran as an independent) and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa. Mamdani received 948,202 votes (50.6%), while Cuomo got 776,547 votes (41.3%) and Sliwa received 137,030 votes.
