We snorkeled at the blue cave in Okinawa, Japan. THIS IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS. If you the least bit unsure about your abilities I recommend going with a tour group! If you don’t ever snorkel GO WITH A TOUR GROUP. I can’t stress this enough. People die every year from not being safe and there are plenty of ways for someone to drown even with a hundred people around you. We are VERY confident swimmers so we were fine going on our own. Same for my kids. This specific time we were on our own, just mom and dad. But we did take the kids later in the week after going ourselves. The cave was very sketchy with the kids but they had fun. Mom and dad were a little stressed out worrying about the kids in the dark and around so many people. But any way with just the two of us we were able to explore a bit more than when we had the kids with us. This was a lot of fun though. If you are confident I highly recommend this but if you aren’t sure especially snorkeling around a lot of people definitely go with a tour group. There are plenty to choose from with a quick google search. Same goes if you plan to scuba dive. There were tour guides almost carrying people in scuba gear around the area.
