They feel the resulting aircraft is the clear choice for flight schools needing to update old-technology, gas-guzzling fleets with new state-of-the-art training aircraft. "Alto will stay in the landing pattern earning money when most other aircraft are in the shop," said Ron. "Because it combines a rugged, low-maintenance design with great gas mileage, the Alto is an investment that will pay dividends for the aircraft owner as well as the school." While flight schools might find those words reassuring to the operation of a business, recreational aircraft users and those who enjoy cross country will also appreciate Alto 100. It offers a clean, comfortable interior with a forward-sliding canopy that joins great ventilation with wonderful visibility. This canopy assembly can be quickly removed without special tools offering access to the back of the instrument panel. Powered by the 100-hp Rotax, Alto cruises at 115 mph for 500 miles on a 24 gallon fuel supply.
