There are a lot of people who do hardcore dieting and spend ample time in the gym, lifting heavy weights to shape and tone their bodies. Having big tummies, big thighs, love handles, saddle bags, banana rolls and/or double chin will lower one’s self-esteem and self-confidence. To deal with fatty bodies, people tend to go to the gym and spend tons of hours doing workouts to shed some kilos. People only feel satisfied and happy when they get positive results from dieting and gyming. But sometimes there might be a layer of thick subcutaneous fat accumulated in some part of your body that is stubborn. In such a case, no matter how much exercise you do, how hardcore your diet, or how much sweat you weep out, there is no positive result. ***Procedure of Liposuction​: Certain steps need to be taken care of during the whole liposuction surgery. This treatment might be performed with various techniques but the procedure and steps remain the same in each technique. *Before liposuction surgery: ● The candidate should have a BMI less than 30. ● The candidate should have firm elastic skin, stable weight, and a healthy lifestyle. ● The candidate should stop smoking 2 weeks before and after surgery. ● The candidate should not have any medical disorders like diabetes mellitus, ischaemic hear disorders etc. ● Before surgery, Dr. Sanjay will check your complete medical history and you will be physically examined. ● Dr. Sanjay will advice you some routine blood tests to know that you are in good health. ● Before the procedure, Dr. Sanjay will mark the areas to be suctioned. *The steps of liposuction surgery: 1. Administering anesthesia and tumescent fluid infiltration: General anesthesia is preferred for patients who have substantial amounts of fat deposited in a particular area or in multiple areas. But for small areas, local anesthesia can also be used as per the choice and comfort of the patient. After giving anesthesia, the tumescent fluid is infiltrated so that tissue becomes firm and fat easy to remove. This technique prevents blood loss and reduces the risk. 2. Placing incisions: After giving the required anesthesia, the surgeon makes small incisions in the target area from which fat has to be removed. The size of this incision ranges from 5-6 mm which is very small. The number of incisions depends upon the areas to be treated. 3. Removal of excess fat: Now a thin and hollow tube called a cannula is inserted through the incision made. With the help of gentle back and forth movement multiple tunnels are created using the cannula which loosens the fat within the body parts to be treated. Now the separated fat is sucked out with the help of a surgical vacuum pump that is attached to a cannula. Some surgeons may use technology like Power assisted device (PAL), ultrasound (UAL or VASER liposuction), laser (LAL), or RF (Radiofrequency) device. 4. Closing the wound: Once the fat is sucked out, the surgeon will close the incision with absorbable sutures and bandage them firmly. Certain incisions may be kept open to drain out the fluid.
