FULL POLICE REPORT (with photos): https://1drv.ms/b/c/1f43f58f1f4b4ab7/... Road Rage Avoidance Tips: https://www.defensivedriving.org/dmv-... On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at approximately 2:39 PM, Troop A communications received a 911 call reporting that a black male driving a Budget box truck had pointed a gun at the caller while traveling eastbound on I-40 near the 146-mile marker. The caller also mentioned that the Budget truck may have been traveling with a van. Troop A immediately broadcasted the information, and Trooper David Calvert and Trooper Chance Fortune responded to locate the suspect vehicle. I Trooper Alex Bratton responded to the scene to take the victim’s report. Meanwhile, Troop A communications monitored I-Drive cameras along I-430 and provided updates on the vehicle’s location. Troopers Calvert and Fortune successfully located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on I-430 Southbound at 1MM. I made contact with the victim XXXXX advised that they were passing a vehicle crash that was on the right shoulder and traffic was bottlenecking getting over for the Troopers that were on the shoulder. XXXXX stated that the B/M in the white budget truck drove up next to him and they were yelling back and forth and throwing hand gestures at one another. When the Budget truck was taking the exit to go I-430 South, that is when the male subject wearing all black with a black beanie pulled a black handgun and pointed at him as if he was about to shoot at him. That is when XXXXX called to report, as he continued I-40 East. When Troopers made contact with the suspect (Adaylan MARTIN), he advised he had some marijuana in his sock. After a probable cause search of the truck was conducted, a handgun (Glock .40 Caliber Model 23,) matching the description from the victim was located in the middle floorboard in the front cab of the box truck (easily accessible by the suspect). The firearm was located inside of a backpack with 11 grams of marijuana and a metal marijuana rolling tray with marijuana residue on it. The handgun didn’t have a round in the chamber, but had eight live rounds in the magazine. When I ran MARTIN through Atlas, he showed to have a suspended driver’s license. I advised MARTIN of his Miranda Rights, and asked him what had happened. MARTIN advised that the orange semi-truck cut his girlfriend off (who was driving ahead of him in a white van) and was road raging with her. MARTIN said this made him mad, so he drove up next to the semi and started road rage with him, yelling at one another and flipping one another off. MARTIN advised as he was taking the exit, he never pulled his gun but flipped the victim off with both of his hands and since his skin is brown and his hoody was black, that is what the victim must have mistaken for a black handgun. MARTIN did advise that he got really mad at the semi when he was road raging with his girlfriend and that is why he drove up and got involved to stand up to the semi. I placed MARTIN under arrest and transported him to Pulaski County Detention Center where he was charged with the following: 5-13-204- Aggravated Assault (D Felony) 5-64-419- Possession of Schedule 6 less than 4 ounces (A Misdemeanor) 5-64-443- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (A Misdemeanor) 27-16-303- Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License.
