www.EyeOC.com / doctorkrad Within a healthy eye is a clear lens. As we become older, that lens becomes cloudy. The cloudy lens is called a Cataract. In cataract surgery, the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a clear artificial lens implant. In this video, I discuss how it's very important not only to center your capsulorrhexis, but also why it's important to size it appropriately. 360 degree overlap of the IOL optic edge can improve longterm stability, as it can minimize tilt of the IOL. There are other advantages that I do not discuss in this video, such as being able to optic capture an appropriately sized rhexis.
