Super Easy Yee Sang Recipe with Mother Cheong

Yee Sang is the salad that we (asians) eat to kick off Chinese New Year . This year I thought it would be cool to learn from mum how to make it... The Salad is a combination of carrots, daikon, and cucumber, and is organized in a creative way. Each ingredients represents something different - wealth, prosperity etc.. Traditional is a plum sauce, but because plum sauce was hard to find when we first arrived in NZ, mum has adapted the recipe to an apricot sauce. It is believed that the higher you toss the salad, the more wealth, promotion, and luck is meant to be given to you. Gong xi fa cai / Happy Chinese New Year!!!
