The St. Johns County Public Library System (SJCPLS) is partnering with Mayday Ice Cream to celebrate Library Lovers’ Month in February through a sweet community collaboration. Mayday Ice Cream is now serving an original ice cream flavor imagined by a library staff member and selected through a public vote. The winning flavor, "Where the Wild Flavors Are," features wild blueberry and dark chocolate ice cream with a hint of sea salt. The new scoop is inspired by the beloved children’s book "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. "Our partnership with the St. Johns County Public Library System is incredibly special to us," said Jessi Streator, Mayday’s Director of Administration and Marketing and an avid library patron. "Library Lovers’ Month celebrates imagination and storytelling. We’re honored to help turn that spirit into something fun, nostalgic, and delicious for the community." “Library Lovers’ Month is a time to show love and support for libraries and an opportunity to engage the community,” said Debra Rhodes Gibson, SJCPLS Director. “Mayday has been a partner with us for a couple of years, and this collaboration felt like the perfect recipe for connection.” “Where the Wild Flavors Are” will continue to be available for purchase at all Mayday Ice Cream locations in St. Johns County through March 13, 2026, or while supplies last.
