They formed by DNA wrapped around histone proteins. In nucleosome structure both histones and non histones proteins are present. Histone proteins are H1, H2, H3, H4. H2 has 2 variants. H2A and H2B. H2A and H2B forms dimer and H3 and H4 forms tetramer. Finally they form histone octamer . After these they form 30nm fibers, 30 nm fibers are composed of solenoid and zigzag models. After that the scaffold proteins further modified the structure into 300 nm then they form super solenoid structures of 700nm and finally the metaphase chromosome occurs which is 1400nm.
