Shri Krishnashtakam (श्री कृष्णाष्टकम्) is a sacred eight-verse hymn glorifying Lord Krishna as Jagadguru, the supreme teacher of the universe. This stotra beautifully describes Krishna’s divine birth, enchanting form, compassion, beauty, and protective power. Chanting Krishnashtakam daily—especially in the early morning (प्रातःकाल)—is believed to destroy sins accumulated over many lifetimes, grant inner peace, devotion, clarity, and divine grace, and strengthen one’s connection to Bhagavan Shri Krishna. Ideal for: • Morning Vishnu/Krishna worship • Janmashtami & Ekadashi • Bhakti, peace & spiritual purity • Krishna devotees & Vaishnavas • Calm, meditative chanting 📖 FULL ENGLISH TRANSLATION – SHRI KRISHNASHTAKAM Verse 1 I bow to Lord Krishna, the divine son of Vasudeva, the slayer of Kamsa and Chanura, the supreme joy of Devaki, the spiritual teacher of the universe. Verse 2 I bow to Lord Krishna, whose beauty resembles the Atasi flower, adorned with necklaces and anklets, wearing jeweled bracelets and armlets, the Jagadguru of all worlds. Verse 3 I bow to Lord Krishna, with curly locks of hair, a face like the full moon, and shining earrings swaying gracefully. Verse 4 I bow to Lord Krishna, fragrant like Mandara flowers, smiling gently, four-armed, wearing a peacock feather upon His crown. Verse 5 I bow to Lord Krishna, with lotus-petal eyes, dark as a rain-filled cloud, the crown jewel of the Yadava dynasty. Verse 6 I bow to Lord Krishna, engaged in divine play with Rukmini, resplendent in yellow garments, fragrant with sacred Tulasi leaves. Verse 7 I bow to Lord Krishna, whose chest bears marks of kumkum from the embrace of the Gopis, the eternal abode of Goddess Lakshmi, the mighty wielder of the bow. Verse 8 I bow to Lord Krishna, marked with the sacred Srivatsa, broad-chested and adorned with forest garlands, holding the conch and discus, the supreme divine Lord.
