Taba means "bundle" or "bunch" in japanese and is now used to describe these super soft squishies that come in in a "bundle" of fake packaging. You squish it through the plastic which is surprisingly satisfying. Tabas originated in China, where silicone factories have started producing a new polymer that is softer than Shore 00. This is sometimes confusingly referred to as "glue" on social media clips however it's due to a mistranslation. In Chinese, "jiao" (glue) can also be used to describe any thick, sticky liquid. It's essentially the Chinese term for "squishy gel". Tabas are always made from silicone and have nothing to do with glue. Some tabas are so sticky that they have to be flocked. When buying flocking powder, try to avoid ones that are marketed as fake snow. These are usually quite coarse and won't give you the best velvety, fuzzy texture. Make sure you're wearing an N95/FF2 mask (or higher) when using flocking powder because the particles get everywhere and should not be inhaled.
