Here’s a video I made discussing the design of the Vista Canyon Metrolink Station. Vista Canyon was built to serve a brand new transit oriented community of the same name in the City of Santa Clarita. Along with its own Metrolink station, the Vista Canyon community also has its own bus terminal, public parks, grocery stores, schools, and is still continuing to grow and develop. This station was very cleverly designed and based off of the pure thought and effort that went into it i’d say its my favorite on the system. As for railfanning, I do prefer some of the other AV line stations such as Vincent-Grade/Acton, Santa Clarita, and Burbank Downtown, but for commuting purposes and the purpose of showing off some art and history this one is by far my favorite. Everything from the cracks in the sidewalk, to the patterns on the platform, the handrails, and even the sunshades over the passenger waiting area was designed with the history of the Valley subdivision and the Southern Pacific Railroad put into it. As a huge SP fan who has read countless books and internet articles about the San Joaquin district that included the modern day UP Mojave and Metrolink Valley subdivisions it certainly is an awesome station to look at. This is my first narrated video so please go easy on me in the comments lol Hope you enjoyed!
