In this video, I test my f/2.2 Celestron C9.25 HyperStar setup on the M42 Orion Nebula for Live EAA (Electronically Assisted Astronomy)! With only 2 minutes of total integration time, we can already see amazing detail straight from a Bortle 7 backyard. I’m also using the IDAS NBZ-II dual-band filter, which keeps strong H-alpha and OIII transmission even at fast optics like f/2.2, perfect for HyperStar EAA. HyperStar is especially powerful for EAA because it brings the C9.25 down from f/10 to f/2.2 while still maintaining a moderate 525 mm focal length. That means high-detail live views with very short exposures, and you don’t need guiding to get clean results. It’s an ideal combination for seeing deep-sky objects appear in real time.
