Maaloula, a Christian village in Syria Second day of my tour in Syria. We start our drive from Damascus to Aleppo, and on the way, we stop in Maaloula, a Christian village that was destroyed by Isis. The headquarters of Isis were in a hotel on top of the village, and the hotel was heavily bombed when the Syrian government managed to take back control of the village thanks to the help of the Hezbollah. Then we visit the church of Thakla, the woman who christianized the region.
