“Lead with Me,” hosted by Doug Carlberg, is a new podcast series produced by the San Antonio Manufacturers Association (SAMA) that will feature industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators that share their experiences, wisdom, and insights regarding all things manufacturing and beyond. Each month, “Lead with Me” will give podcast subscribers an inside look into a manufacturing professional's life story and key moments that made them who they are today. Episode 7 of the podcast highlights Joel Gunn, a hands-on executive whose career began in a Fortune 500 company with experience in a multi-national faith-based nonprofit organization and consulting the cybersecurity division of an industry leader. After a decade of serving as a business and strategy coach to dozens of CEOs and executives, Joel now serves as a CFO for a $32M manufacturing company in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. He recently completed a certification from Cornell University for "Designing and Building AI Solutions". Since July 2023, Joel has been sharing practical insights regarding AI with diverse regional and national audiences, including leadership groups, real estate professionals, manufacturers, and chambers of commerce. Despite his busy schedule, Joel carves out time for personal pursuits. In his downtime, you’ll often find him learning in some way: golf lessons, researching AI applications in business, or engrossed in the latest book from his reading pile. Joel loves spending quality time with his family or indulging his creative side with photography. His life, both in the professional and personal domains, embodies a blend of leadership, faith, and a strong passion for building people and their businesses.
