Honda 40Hp Over Heating Clogged Intake ! Back Flushed Repair . Lower Unit Removal hidden bolt 🔩.

I purchased a boat with a Honda 40 hp on it. It was not peeing . I assumed it was just the water pump . It was much more. It was a combination of problems. First off the pump was bad for sure we replaced that first. Still no pee. Then replaced the thermostat that was corroded stuck bad. Then we got a long metal rod we made a shoved it up the in let pipe to the engine . It had a define clog. I was able to push the rod finally past the obstruction . This cleared the pipe. We then took a garden hose and back flushed the engine thru the water thermostat opening in the top of engine. Large amount of sand and debris was left in the bottom of the capture bucket as shown in another video about the back flushing. Please also note the hidden bolt on the lower end unit under the tracking fin ! Don't break your lower unit . Please view my other video on this 40 hp Honda Engine.
