Hudson Valley Hospital Center is pleased to announce the opening of the new Organic Garden for Healing that took place on April 25, 2012. The garden is part of the Seeds for Health program that serves to educate and provide therapy for cancer patients and their families at the Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. Inspired by the "Think Pink, Live Green" initiative led by Dr. Marisa C. Weiss from Breastcancer.org, HVHC teamed up with Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture to put forth a program that stresses the importance of nutrition in healing and the therapeutic benefits of gardening in managing stress and reducing anxiety. The organic garden was built and planted by staff and many members of the community. Visit www.hvhc.org for more details.
