Hi everyone, it’s The Hungry Curator and today we’re visiting the Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Sonoma County, California. This was such a fun day-trip filled with wine tasting, gourmet dining, and Hollywood memorabilia, all while exploring the legacy of one of cinema's greatest directors. We kicked off our adventure with a Seated Wine Tasting on the terrace, sampling a flight of wines. Next, we got lunch at Rustic, the winery’s restaurant offering a menu inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s favorite Italian cuisine. Then we took a guided tour of the winery where we saw the collection of film memorabilia, a stroll through the beautiful grounds, and a peak into the bottling line. This feels like a day at the museum with a behind-the-scenes view of iconic movie sets and decades of filmmaking history from the Coppola’s legendary careers. Highlights included the Apocalypse Now's display, model sailing warships from Sofia Coppola’s, Marie Antoinette, and an original red 1948 Tucker car on view in the Movie Gallery. It’s this captivating atmosphere that makes Francis Ford Coppola Winery one of America’s premier destinations and surprisingly family-friendly.
