Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s visionary leadership has transformed Indian Railways. Key Highlights: 1. Record Budget & Expansion: Indian Railways has received an unprecedented ₹2.78 lakh crore in the Union Budget 2026–27. The merger of the Railway Budget with the General Budget has ensured stronger financial support, year‑round approvals, and greater transparency. 2. Railways for Common Man: Over 160 Vande Bharat and 60 Amrit Bharat trains are running, with more in the pipeline. New suburban and MEMU services are being added, festival specials operated, and holding areas developed at major stations to ease passenger travel. 3. Employment & Recruitment Reforms: Five lakh jobs have been created in the past decade, with 1.43 lakh recruitments underway. A structured annual calendar, exams in 150 cities and 15 languages, and a central war room have made recruitment more transparent and efficient. 4. Technology & Make in India: RailOne App has crossed 2.5 crore downloads, modernised PRS is improving bookings, and AI‑based systems are enhancing safety and maintenance. Under Make in India, railway exports have crossed ₹24,000 crore to leading global markets. 5. Station Redevelopment & Capacity: Work is underway at 1,300 stations, with 180 completed and 500 nearing completion. Expansion in 48 cities is adding platforms, stabling lines, and terminals, all while keeping train operations running smoothly. 6. Cultural Connectivity: Railways is strengthening links to major cultural and religious centres, with upgrades for Kumbh cities and pilgrim hubs through bridges, track doubling, and signalling improvements. 7. Opposition State Obstruction: Projects in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal remain blocked due to land acquisition delays. Despite record central investment, 476 acres in Kerala, 4,326 hectares in Tamil Nadu, and 60 projects in West Bengal are stuck. 8. Bullet Train Project: The Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train is advancing rapidly, 300 km of viaduct built, river bridges completed, and India’s first undersea tunnel underway. Commissioning begins 2027, with trains at 350 km/h. Seven more corridors will follow. 9. Passenger Experience: Continuous cleaning in long‑distance trains, improved Tatkal booking, and new convenience measures are raising passenger satisfaction. 10. Railway Workforce: Around 12.5 lakh employees, loco pilots, track maintainers, station staff, and technical teams are the backbone of Indian Railways, ensuring uninterrupted operations even in challenging conditions. #ashwinivaishnaw ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subscribe to channel Ashwini Vaishnaw: / @ashwinivaishnawbjp Hit the 🔔 to stay updated! ► Facebook: / ashwinivaishnawbjp ► Twitter: / ashwinivaishnaw ► Instagram: / ashwini.vaishnaw
