An overview of how the Voxel Farm Citadel project was built. Get a 30-day free trial of Voxel Farm here: http://www.voxelfarm.com/getvoxelfarm... This is the largest Voxel Farm project up to date. The video shows how the voxel tools allow for faster and simpler creation. A project this size would not be possible with traditional tools like Maya and Unreal Engine. All the geometry is unique, which allows for massive organic shapes. Only trees, grass, and urns are instanced. With Voxel Farm, creators do not need to be concerned about creating LODs or how the content will be eventually optimized and made game-ready. Voxel Farm tools are closer to working with Photoshop but in 3D. This allows to shape up the entire content from the larger volumes down to the smallest detail. All content created in voxels is destructible in real-time, without requiring any additional preparation. Players could continue to build on top of the original content, using the same tools used by the artists to create the original model. The video still shows a work-in-progress. We will be improving the demo in UE4, adding enemies, interesting forms of destruction and new effects and animations. The citadel model and textures were created by Ben, who works for Voxel Farm. Ben also created the music for this video. We discovered Ben thanks to the EverQuest Next Landmark community, where he created amazing voxel content using the Ginsan alias.
