Canfield Nimble 9 Build and First Look: A Modern Singlespeed Steel Hardtail

The Canfield Nimble 9 is on its 5th generation, with more modern geometry, with the same heritage underneath. In this episode we build up a frame from scratch and turn it into a modern singlespeed hardtail. This bike has a 415-430mm chainstay, a 450mm reach (size med), a 66* hta, and a 77* effective sta. On paper, this bike makes a lot of sense for a lot of people. In all the bikes that come across my workstand, this was my favorite to build and look at. Canfield took note of all the small details that make a build a joy, from separately bagged hardware, included headsets and collars, ed coating, and perfect finish on the dropouts, head tube, full external cable routing, and clean threadded bottom bracket.
