Born out of spontaneous candid jam sessions, Yin Yin are a band that views coincidences as karmic opportunities, absorbing the moment to give birth to music. On their second studio album “The Age of Aquarius”, the four-piece from Maastricht demonstrated earlier this year how far each one of them has come from their first improvisation tapes three years ago. Musically matured, more virtuosic than ever and on every instrument, they’re ready to give their music to the world. Pentatonic riffs meet wildly roving drums, tribal percussions meet a slew of idiosyncratic, psychedelic effects. From Southeast Asian influences over disco elements to funk vibes and summery desert rock: their music doesn’t create images, it creates entire movies before your inner eye that will take you to new horizons. The fact that Yin Yin became part of Reeperbahn Festival Collide in collaboration with visual artist Benita Martis & GROSSE8, resulting in an incredibly unique cover of Kraftwerk’s “Das Model”, almost seems like divine intervention – or karma? Regarding sound and image, there’s no comparison. Reeperbahn Festival is the biggest club festival in Europe and the largest European platform for international pop culture and the music industry. Since 2006, for four days each September the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Germany has become the centre of the international music world and a sustainable interface between artists, the public, industry representatives and society. The Conference programme is aimed at professional visitors from all segments of the music industry from around the world.
