This is the first song by the progressive death project "The Proverbial Mind Spread". We actually recorded it about two months ago, but I was just too lazy to make a video of me playing it. The project consists of Dylan Myers (cdmskater) and myself. For this recording, guitars were recorded by myself, lyrics were written by me, drums programmed by Dylan, and vocals by Dylan. We are currently looking for a bass player and a drummer. You should subscribe to our page "TheProvrblMindSpread" to stay updated with whatever we're doing. The song is about a man who has had a lot of adversity in his life and doesn't know what to do with his future. He is visited in the the middle of the night by a group of seemingly evil aliens who offer to take him to their planet, where his troubles will no longer matter. He takes them up on their offer, and in the future he regrets making that decision. Lyrics: I am awakened in the middle of the night By a loud whirring noise I lay in bed paralyzed I see these strange beings Glaring down upon me Evil intentions in their eyes "Come with us We mean you no harm All of your troubles Will soon be gone We are aware of your past You need to get away fast" I am speechless Thoughts racing through my head Thinking about what these creatures said This place is not for me I want to be free This is my opportunity I have decided to come home with you You are my new friends Just take me away from Earth I boarded their ship They took me away My past was forgotten Everything was okay.. This is not what I wanted So much different than what I expected I cannot live I am alone; More than I ever was I cannot live I am alone More than I ever was I made a mistake I should have stayed My life was not as bad as I portrayed
