Bengaluru Stray Dog Attack: Students Injured, CM & SC Orders On Animal Welfare | India Today

Two university students were bitten by a stray dog in Bengaluru, with one student critically injured and admitted to the ICU. The incident occurred near Nagarbhavi on the Bengaluru city campus, where the female students, one from Telangana and another from Harviri, were attacked while walking towards their class. Chief Minister Sathya Ramaiah commented on the situation, stating, "Treating stray dogs as a nuisance to be removed is not governance, it is cruelty. You mean societies find solutions that protect people and animals, sterilization, vaccination and community care work. Fear-driven measures only create more suffering, not safety." This incident follows a Supreme Court order concerning the sterilization and relocation of stray dogs from public spaces, including Delhi NCR.
