Black Eyed Sons have unveiled their new video for “Savoir Faire,” a swaggering, street-lit homage to Mink DeVille that leans deep into the grit and glamour of 1970s New York. And they’re not doing it alone. The track features a guest appearance from Alan Clayton of The Dirty Strangers — a collaboration that feels as natural as a late-night dive-bar conspiracy. “We wanted a live performance video,” explains guitarist Guy Griffin, “but we also wanted a rough storyline echoing the New York rock ’n’ roll scene of the mid-seventies — an amazing period in music. So many of those bands, especially Mink DeVille, really influenced me. Alan and I are huge fans. And having Steve Conte play on the track was perfect — he actually played in Willy DeVille’s band.” The video pairs Black Eyed Sons’ raw, unfiltered energy with a cinematic nod to the Bowery, Times Square neon, and the sleaze-and-soul pulse of downtown rock clubs. It’s a love letter to the era that shaped them — and a reminder that the attitude of Mink DeVille still runs hot in the bloodstream of modern rock ’n’ roll. “Savoir Faire” is the final single from the band’s UK Number One album, Cowboys in Pinstriped Suits, and its release coincides neatly with Black Eyed Sons’ first run of UK shows this December — a victory lap charged with nostalgia, grit, and fresh fire.
