I grow so weary of this criticism. The accusation that I need to be 'spoonfed' lore is a cheap and easy way to avoid acknowledging the obvious: that the lore I'm discussing isn't giving information necessary to better appreciate and understand the figures and events. Is it possible to just spoonfeed lore? Sure. I think it's possible, and I'll even give some examples as to when it happens...but in the case of Kallopi and other instances in the lore? I think it's truly ironic that people say they compare Kalliopi's lore to Gladiator (2011). Because if you really do compare these two stories, you realize EXACTLY why I take issue with Kalliopi's lore. Me: Why doesn't Guljin execute Kalliopi? Argument: It's just like in Gladiator, Guljin is a slave to the crowd. Me: But in Gladiator, the Emperor relied on the crowd to maintain his position. Does Guljin suffer the same issue? Does she NEED the crowd? What is her relation to it? The more you try to use a movie comparison, the easier it is for me to tear apart the lore's failings. So do I need spoonfed lore? Or does the lore feel like it's lacking in a serious way?
