Deagan Vibraharp restoration by Kegg Pipe Organ Builders

Kegg Pipe Organ Builders has restored a 49 note Deagan Vibraharp made in 1935, for the American Organ Institute of the University of Oklahoma at Norman, OK. This is a vacuum operated unit with a rotary vacuum pump on board as part of the unit, similar to a reproducing piano. It was built to be part of a pipe organ, played from the organ console. It has active dampers and a damper lift. The vibrato is produced by turning butterfly vanes that open and close the resonators. These are driven from the pump flywheel and can be turn on and off by the organist. This work was completed in August 2016.
