#HEALTH #NINEINCHNAILS #ISNTEVERYONE #LYRICVIDEO #COLLABORATION #DISCO4 So, those who know me iRL know that Nine Inch Nails has been my favorite music act for over 20 years now... and HEALTH being a more recent addition to my favorites (since whenever Death Magic came out), this collaboration is... dare I say, perfect. Musically, both styles blend together seamlessly, and while the vocal styles couldn’t be anymore opposite, they compliment each other exceptionally. Trent’s more of a deep, gravely, and crisp masculine presence that reflects inner rage... while Jake’s a softer, higher, more feminine presence... draped in that trademark echoey-reverb, seems to reflect a more hopeless vibe. They bounce off each other better than I ever could have imagined. The lyrics have been somewhat of a controversy in the community though. With no official lyrics released from either side as of this writing, everybody seems to hear something different. So I’m admitting this straight-up: these lyrics are not going to be 100% accurate... in fact, I didn’t even try to include Trent’s complete 3rd line because all I can clearly make out is the last part “...cast your spells”... and every discussion I’ve found online seem to offer a different opinion of it. So you’ll have to decide on that one for yourself, however... the rest of the lyrics are as I hear them. The video itself was a lot of fun to make. Took forever to complete, even though it’s literally made up of only 3 screenshots of the official video, the cover art, and a black background. 5 still images. That’s it. The rest is just me having fun with my visual effects. I tried to capture the original vibe while making it my own... so let me know what you think. Jesus, there I go again. Sorry.
