Last time we fixed a C64 board that had some interesting faults. This time we take on another, and this was the nicest one for the bunch we unpacked some episodes back This was some Commodore stuff that I bought a while back, and it has been sitting for some time. This episode will be about testing and using some new faultfinding methods. As usual I will try to describe my process for fault finding, and I test some diagnostic tools to see how they compare with the real world. I also test the SID chip from the last episode and, also compare it to an ARMSID. I also wrote a simple basic program to test the CIA’s This will be the third episode in a series of videos about the C64, but I will make episodes that can be watched separately. I did repairs on Commodore computers back in the day. I have kept both the knowledge and my original service binders. I have made several videos on the C64 before. I also have done YouTube’s most comprehensive guides on the C2N Datasette, and the PowerBricks and the internal power struggles of the C64. I have also done a series on the C128DCR’s and some general information about the 128. I will not leave links to the individual videos, I will just link the Commodore playlist. I also recommend the series where I build my own C64 from a reverse engineered 466 Board. I did not manage to use all spare parts from back in the day combined with off the shelf bread and butter parts, I was lacking a PAL VICII chips, otherwise no C64 was harmed during the construction. #commodore #c64 #SID Commodore in general: • Commodore About the powerbricks • C64 Powerbrick The unpacking video for this batch of C64’s: • A sad looking commodore, and some happy ones My last C64 video • Can we make this sad looking Commodore 64 ...
