First Downwind send on the Ozone Power Pack 4.3m Parawing. For my first shuttle downwind run on the New Ozone Power Pack I used it to Augment my run line and gladly skipped the whole paddle out since the wind was filled in from the beach. After a free ride out to the open ocean, I stowed the Power Pack, which is a breeze with its small pack size, then I pulled my paddle off my shoulder and started my downwinder. The Power Pack is the latest Parawing to hit the market from Ozone, and it's delivering some epic performance in an incredibly simple and compact platform. It's optimized for stowing and deploying with ease, with limited cell counts, short stiff lines, and a very intentional design of the bar to vastly improve the handling and control of sheeting angle on a compact and simple bar setup. So far its been my go to parawing for shuttle laps and upwind downwind as it's just a pleasure to fly with all the work that's gone into it. This is a long video of my whole run, breaking down the Run line augmentation with the Power Pack, the stow, and then the shred across the bay from Port San Luis to Oso Flaco. It was my first run in the ocean on the experimental proto Hydrocraft systems 13.1 aspect ratio foil, and boy, did it not disappoint. I’m so stoked to be able to ride the foils my college kitesurfing friends are making, truly incredible feels, and I can't wait to get to share them with the world when it's time. What started off as a sunny day quickly became fully socked in as a dense but low marine layer descended on the ba,y cutting off all visibility of the land in any direction. With the bumps as my directional guide, I just surfed the rest of the way blind, having the time of my life in the beautiful but spooky conditions. So stoked on my gear, board is Hydrocraft Systems 7’4x19x108L shaped by SOS with experimental proto 787 13.1 AR foil, Vaikobi pfd, Kaohi invis leash with belt, Patagonia surf wetsuit, All Good sunscreen, and Ombraz prescription glasses. This was my first downwind run with my new SurfEars earplugs that keep your ears protected but still let you hear your surroundings, perfect fit for downwinding. I'm loving them, highly recommend the Surf Ears 4.0 for all your water adventures.
