Let's learn some simple tips and techniques to perform CPR. To identify if a person needs CPR: If you find a patient unconscious, check for their pulse. If there is no pulse and the heart is not beating, start CPR immediately. Take the person to a flat surface and begin CPR correctly. The proper way to do CPR is: Tighten your elbows. Place your hands one on top of the other, interlocking fingers. Do not bend your elbows; keep them straight. Choose the central part of the chest and press about 2 inches deep, no more. Perform compressions at a rate of 100 to 120 compressions per minute. Between every 15 to 20 compressions, give two breaths by lifting the chin up, closing the airway, and giving air to the person. Continue CPR until the person regains their pulse. Then stop CPR and immediately take them to the nearest hospital for further management. Anyone can save a person's life using CPR if done correctly. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Apollo Hospitals is the leading multi-specialty hospitals group in India.
