House hunting in Oaxaca City , Mexico

Okay guys here’s house #4 and you might think we’re crazy for this one 🤣. I posted in my neighborhood group that we were looking to rent a Spanish hacienda . A landlord sent me this house . It’s located in San Agustin Etla , Oaxaca at the top of the mountain walking distance to the arts center , cafes and our gym . Now I know this seems like a lot for a rental but we did ask the landlord about the potential to buy in the future . It’s not uncommon in cheaper homes here for them to not come with a finished kitchen . As I stated this home is $290 a month compared to the other houses we saw that were $750-930 USD . And to be honest I don’t like the kitchen and bathrooms in the other rentals much either meaning we would likely still do work to them . Our next home we want to stay in for awhile and I mean until we’re ready to buy and there is the potential to buy this home as the owner is old and doesn’t want to keep doing work to the house . The difference of the rents and deposit would allow us to do the work to this house . If we were to take this house we would have to commit to sharing the journey online with you guys . Now I know for many they wouldn’t be down for this , but given labor here is less of an investment than the states by far and the fact that William is capable of doing a lot of the work makes this a possibility for us . First priorities would be the kitchen and downstairs bathroom , and a gate for the side yard so Zayn our son cannot access the stairs and the rooftop .
