Overview of National Academies Study on Integration of the Humanities and Arts with the Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Higher Education Ashley Bear, PhD, The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (DC) The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine has launched a study on the mutual integration of the arts and humanities with science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine in higher education. This study is examining the evidence behind the assertion that mutually integrative educational programs lead to improved educational and career outcomes for undergraduate and graduate students. This session will offer information about the rationale for this study, background on the study process, and will seek public input on the study from those symposium participants with an interest in, and experience with, integration in higher education.
