In this video, Mike is looking to see if airflow and case temperatures make a difference with modern CPU's and components. With modern built-in overclocking features like AMD's XFR and Nvidia's GPU Boost will a restricted airflow reduce the potential from your games and applications? We tested the Corsair 750D in four different configurations: Stock front panel, air filter only, Corsairs AIRFLOW kit, and with just a bare open front. The results were pretty much as expected. The cooler the case the better the Frames Per Second (FPS) in games. The CPU temps were a bit unexpected until looking at the boosted clocks. The Airflow kit did seem to allow higher clock speeds although with a higher clock speed the CPUs temperatures did exceed the stock configuration temps, but the performance also increased. If you are looking to overclock your components to squeeze the very best out of them you will need to increase the airflow given with the stock front panel. Is the AIRFLOW kit worth it?
