Orange / EE -- refuse to state position in writing and fail to respond to complaint regarding the withdrawl of the 'broadband for life' with mobile phone contracts. September 2012 - Orange / EE informed customers who were renewing mobile phone contracts since 2006 on a basis of 'Free Broad Band for Life' as long as they renewed their mobile phone contracts - that they would loose their free broadband unless they took out a landline with Orange. Complaints to the Executive office of Orange / EE were made in writing on 21 October and 15 November 2012. These complaints were ignored. This call to Orange / EE made on 10 December 2012 to get a deadlock letter. The call lasted over an hour and involved some lies and backtracking from orange on the 'broadband for life' issue. 3 months on -- Orange / EE has still not responded and ignores this issue. An example of how badcustomer service is at Orange / EE. Cara Thorsby (Supervisor with Orange in Glasgow) claims "even when you did agree to the contract in the beginning which is the length of the contract which would of been the 2006 - 2007 when you got that broadband, when that contract ended we no longer had to provide you with free broadband at all, because we did advertise it as broadband for life, it was broadband for the life of the contract, it wasn't for life of a human being if that makes sense..." When asked to put their position in writing, she spoke to her senior manager 'Bruce Morrison'. "He stated that we are unable to give you I'm afraid. We are not able to send out written confirmation of that." And... "Obviously we do have statements from OFCOM which state that we do have to provide Broadband for the life of the contract, but we do not have to provide that any further than the life of the contract so there would be no reason for us to provide that written document." On being reminded that the conversation was recorded, Cara Thorsby said "...as long as you are aware that you are not allowed to use this for any purposes except personal use, only yourself can listen to this call..." Then after a bit if a tantrum 'Cara Thorsby' from Orange / EE then backtracks and says "...I can double check again and see if we could possibly do anything since you are saying that OFCOM have been asking that you do provide this letter. I can double check but I doubt that we will be able to..." "...I have spoken with my senior manager and he has stated that all we can do is escalate this further and see if we can provide you with that information. We will contact the exec office but that's all we can do at this stage." And "you will get a response within the next 72hours...." Nearly 3 months later -- still no response! HISTORY: 2006 - Orange sold a contract based on "Free broadband for life" as long as the mobile phone contract was renewed. 2007 - Written corispondence with Orange confirms "free broadband for life" 2011 - 'Broadband for life' confirmed in recorded telephone calls following a problem and a new router being issued. 2012 - Orange / EE now withdrawing broadband for life. Executive office fail to respond to any communication and Orange employees are making up the terms as they go along - refusing to put anything in writing and claiming that this is agreed with OFCOM.
