A Russian guy goes to interview people living in Marcy Houses - notorious Projects in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. This is a huge Project Housing Complex next to beautiful historical buildings. The neighbourhood is famous because Jay-Z was bor here as well as plenty of other music and sport selebreties. Mostly people prefer to avoid Marcy Houses if they don't live there. It is a common conception that the neighbourhood is dangerous, and the locals are poor. But I wanted to see it with my own eyes in order to find the truth. I wanted to meet local people, to talk to them and to find out what is their life like. I wanted to know their struggles, dreams and aspirations. I met young guys and OG's, former criminals and future rap stars. We discussed everything from the history of Marcy Houses to politics, gentrification, hip-hop and African American fashion. At the end of the day I realized that we, people from post-Soviet countries, have much more in common with black Americans living in the projects than with other Americans.
