What does Jesus really mean when He says, “Love your enemies”? In this Tuesday Bible Study, we explore Jesus’ command through a Hebrew and Greek word study, uncovering how Scripture defines an “enemy” and why this command is not about approval, passivity, or pretending pain didn’t happen. As part of our Heart Over Happenings series, this teaching focuses on who we become when love is tested, not how others treat us. We look at relational opposition, spiritual blindness, and how loving enemies is about posture of the heart, not access to your life. If you’ve ever struggled with resentment, boundaries, forgiveness, or loving people who oppose or wound you, this study offers clarity, safety, and spiritual depth rooted in Scripture. In this Bible study, we cover: • What the Bible really means by “enemy” • Hebrew and Greek definitions of enemy • Why Jesus chose relational language, not war language • Loving enemies without excusing harm • The difference between heart posture and relational access • Why enemy love flows from abundance, not depletion • How to be light without losing wisdom 📖 Scriptures included: Matthew 5:43–45 2 Corinthians 4:4 Romans 12:17–21 1 John 4:19 This is not about denying pain. It’s about refusing to let darkness drive us.
